HOW MUCH WORK CAN I POST?
As much as you wish, providing your work is unpublished. You retain all rights to your work, but grant RoseDog.com permission to display what you post to its showcase. You may remove your work at any time--at the touch of a button.
If you are concerned about plagiarism, you may prefer to showcase only a sample of your work. A couple of pages from your novel are hardly of any value when separated from the finished product. Bear in mind also that certain agents and publishers prefer work that has not appeared in its entirety elsewhere. You may also wish to obtain copyright for your work, in which case you should consult the appropriate agencies for more information.
HOW DO YOU POST WORK SO FAST ON ROSEDOG?
All work on RoseDog is posted by a computer, not people, unless a manuscript is sent in the wrong format or without the code. This is why it takes only seconds for your work to appear in our showcase and how we can allow writers to revise work as often as they wish.
HOW DO I SEND YOU MY WORK?
Follow these simple steps:
2) then register a title and synopsis for the work you will be posting. Your synopsis appears only after we've received your manuscript. Register your synopsis by clicking on the link Ready to Post Your Manuscript? found under the Writers tab. You won't see this link unless you are signed in a member.
3) wait to receive from us an email sent to you automatically when you submit your synopsis. That email contains a block of code you need to send along with your manuscript. Our computer "reads" that code to find out who you are and which title you are submitting. Each title has a distinct set of code good for the life of the title, so keep a copy for future use.
4) once you have the code, attach your work in the form of a single plain text file to an email addressed to manuscripts@rosedog.com. Use your mouse to "copy" and then "paste" the code we sent you into the message part of the same email. Send off the email and check the showcase right away.
HOW DO I SEND A SECOND OR THIRD TITLE?
Just sign in, click on the Writers tab and choose the link Ready to Post Your Manuscript?. Register your new title and wait to receive an email from us containing the code you need to post your new title.
HOW CAN I UPDATE MY WORK?Just send us the new version--it automatically replaces the version currently in the showcase. Do NOT remove the current version. Send your new version to manuscripts@rosedog.com in the form of a single plain text file attachment. Remember to include in the message part of the same email the code we sent you for the title you are updating.
If you've lost the code (you can't post without it!!) just sign in and click on the link Want to Update Work Already in the Showcase?, found under the Writers tab. Then select the button "Update Manuscript" under the title in question. This will trigger off an automatic email to you containing the code you need.
HOW LONG BEFORE I SEE MY WORK ON ROSEDOG?
It takes only seconds for our computer to post your work, providing you follow instructions. So check the showcase right away.
If your work is posted but there are changes you wish to make, just send the new version and it automatically replaces the one in the showcase. Do NOT remove the current version. Send your new version to manuscripts@rosedog.com in the form of a single plain text file attachment. Remember to include in the message part of the same email the code we sent you for the title you are updating.
WHAT IF I CAN'T FIND MY WORK ON ROSEDOG?If your work is not in the showcase, our computer had problems processing your submission. Sign in and check out our Troubleshooting Tips and if you are sure of correcting the mistake you made the first time re-send your work. Otherwise wait for us to contact you (usually within 24 hours). We will try to post your work and let you know how to avoid errors in the future.
DUPLICATE SUBMISSIONS
We do not accept duplicate copies of the same title, nor separate postings of different chapters from the same title.
REMEMBER! THE 3 SIMPLE STEPS FOR POSTING YOUR WORK TO ROSEDOG:
2) Attach to that email your work in the form of a single, plain text file attachment
3) Include in the message part of the same email the code we sent you for the title you are posting.
DO NOT:
- alter in any way the code we send you
- do not put the code in the subject line of your email
- do not submit your work in any format other than plain text
DO:
- write to us at rosedog@stargate.net if you need instructions on making the plain text format of your work. Tell us which word processing program you use to type your work (example: Word, WordPerfect). We will reply with simple instructions on how to make Plain Text files. Do NOT send us your work, just ask for instructions.
